Happy New Year! We’re thrilled to reconnect with you as we kick off another exciting year of supporting and celebrating the arts. 2025 marks 23 years of NGĀ ART! With so much in store, we can’t wait to share what’s coming up.
Our 2025 team includes Monique, Bernie, Poto, and Laura, alongside our dedicated contracted art tutors who contribute to our diverse programmes. We are proud to continue offering creative opportunities that strengthen and inspire our local community, making Ngāruawāhia a place where everyone can flourish through the arts.

Our Term 1 classes are now open for enrolment! Whether you’re a child discovering art for the first time, a rangatahi exploring drama, or a senior reconnecting with creativity, there’s something for everyone.
This term, we’re bringing back your favorite workshops, including Exploring Art, drama, taaniko, creative colour labs and pottery, while introducing a few surprises to keep things fresh and exciting. Don’t miss the chance to join us—spots are filling up fast! You can find our classes and enrol here.
NGĀ ART Mini Galleries: Launching This Term
We’re excited to announce the launch of our Mini Galleries! These galleries will showcase artwork from our local creatives, bringing art to unexpected places across Ngāruawāhia.
Keep an eye out for these galleries in community spaces—it’s a chance to celebrate the creativity that makes our town so special.
Community Art Day: Watch This Space
This year, we’re kicking off the first school holidays with a NGĀ ART Community Art Day like no other! Expect a day filled with hands-on activities, creative workshops, and opportunities for whānau to come together and unleash their artistic side.
Details are coming soon, so stay tuned. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it!

Help Us Keep Creativity Thriving
As we head into 2025, we are facing significant funding challenges. We are a registered charity (CC37132) and source our funds from major funders such Lotteries, WEL Energy, Lions Foundation, Trust Waikato, Sky City Hamilton, Grassroots and the Creative Communities Fund.
To continue delivering our programmes, events, and maintaining our vibrant hub, we need your support. If you believe in the power of creativity to transform our community, please consider making a donation or sharing our support link with friends, whānau, and businesses who might like to help: https://ngaart.org/support/. Every contribution helps us create opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth in Ngāruawāhia and beyond.
Thank You for Your Support
Your participation and encouragement make everything we do possible. Whether it’s through attending classes, volunteering, or spreading the word, you’re helping ensure NGĀ ART continues to be a vibrant, inspiring space for all.
Here’s to a year of creativity, connection, and community. We can’t wait to see you at NGĀ ART in 2025!
Ngā mihi nui,
The NGĀ ART Team
