Final Days to Experience Te Pō Mārama + What’s Coming Up for Term 3 at NGĀ ART!

Kia ora e te whānau,

We’re down to the final days of our beautiful glow art exhibition, Te Pō Mārama – Matariki ki NGĀ ART!

This special exhibition has been such a highlight for our community. Hundreds of you have walked through our whare toi over the past few weeks—taking in the light, colour, creativity, and wairua of Matariki.

If you haven’t had the chance to experience it yet, now’s the time!
The exhibition will close at the end of this week—Friday at 2pm (4 July) is your last chance to wander through this magical space.

Looking Ahead – Term 3 is Bursting with Creative Opportunities!

As we wrap up Te Pō Mārama, we’re already turning our focus to a huge and exciting Term 3 programme. This term, we’re offering more than 20 classes and workshops every week, alongside visiting artists, new projects, and the launch of our Mini Art Galleries!

Here’s just a taste of what’s coming:

  • Contemporary Dance Classes for ages 5 years and older – including adult classes!!
  • Beginner Te Reo Māori Course
  • Rongoaa Maaori 8-Week Programme
  • Monday Abstract Art Sessions for Adults
  • Hand-built Pottery Workshops
  • Toi Māori Visual Art Course for adults
  • Open Creators Workspace on Sundays
  • Monthly Writers’ Space for Adult Writers
  • Sustainable Fashion Workshops with visiting artist Jeanine Clarkin (24 July)
  • Poetry Slam event

Thanks to our amazing funders, many of these programmes are heavily subsidised so that cost isn’t a barrier to participation.

Launching Our Mini Art Galleries

We’re also thrilled to launch our Mini Art Galleries project this term—creating new spaces within Ngāruawāhia where local artists, rangatahi, and community groups can display their work. Keep an eye out for announcements of our first featured artists!
