
We are super excited to host visiting artist Larry Abreño for a weekend of creative inspiration and eco-conscious artmaking this November. Larry Abreño is a Waikato -based visual artist. He is celebrated for his unique approach of using coffee as a painting medium. Larry explores espresso and filter coffee. He also uses natural pigments like tea and berries to create works with rich monotones. These works have a strong emotional impact. He is known for merging sustainable art practices with cultural storytelling, often weaving themes of identity, nature, and heritage into his pieces.
How to Paint with Coffee Workshop
Explore the art of painting with coffee in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop. Larry will guide participants through techniques such as layering, blending, and tonal variation, helping you create your own original artwork. All materials provided.
