Our whare has been buzzing with the incredible energy of Term 3, from the vibrant colours of our Creative Colour Lab to the shared stories in Kaumātua Creatives and the meaningful connections being woven through our Contemporary Weaving programmes . Every day, we see the power of creativity to uplift, connect, and heal. It’s in this spirit that we are beyond excited to announce a major fundraiser that will bring our whole community together: Off the Wall: An Art Sale. A Grab & Go. A Good Cause.
This isn’t a quiet, formal exhibition. It’s a lively, joyful celebration of accessible art. We’re inviting artists from across our rohe to take part, and we’re calling on every art lover to come along, find a piece that speaks to them, and take it home that very night.
A Call to Our Creative Community – Sell With Us!

Are you an artist with works ready for a new home? Or perhaps you have a few pieces tucked away that deserve to be seen? This is your chance to spring-clean your studio, connect with new admirers, and directly support the place that supports you.
Here’s how it works:
- It’s a Sale: People walk in, fall in love with your work, buy it, and take it off the wall instantly. Cash, card, gone.
- Fair & Transparent: You receive 90% of the sale price. The remaining 10% is a vital contribution that helps keep our doors open, our workshops running, and our community thriving .
- Four Simple Price Tiers: To make it easy for everyone, all works must fit into one of these categories:
- $25 – Starter Works: Perfect for experiments, smaller pieces, and first-time buyers.
- $50 – The Sweet Spot: The irresistible impulse buy—affordable and full of heart.
- $100 – The Statement: Quality works that demand attention.
- $150 – The Hero Wall: Your very best, showstopping pieces.
How to Join In
- Prepare Your Work: Get your originals ready. We welcome all mediums—painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, and textiles. For the $100 and $150 tiers, we recommend framing. We’ll provide protective plastic sleeves for works on paper.
- Label It: Attach a label to the back with your name, title, price, phone, email, and medium.
- Drop It Off: Bring your works to NGĀ ART between 3 September – 10 September (this is a strict deadline!).
- Spread the Word: We need a full house to make this a success! We’re counting on you to share our posts, invite your friends and whānau, and help us generate excitement for the sale night.
